You’ve been told everything looks fine.
You know it isn’t.

But when your results keep coming back “normal”, it’s hard not to start doubting yourself. Here’s what that often looks like:

Waking exhausted after a full night’s sleep

Running on caffeine and willpower just to get through the day

Brain fog, slow thinking, hard to concentrate

Functioning, but crashing the moment you stop

Low mood and energy, easily irritated

Constipation, bloating, or unpredictable digestion

Hair loss, dry skin, feeling cold all the time

Your results say “normal”, but you feel anything but

It’s the small moments that make it feel urgent.

You realise something has to change.

You couldn’t finish reading a bedtime story to your kids. You were too tired to get the words out.

You went blank in a meeting. Too foggy to follow along, let alone contribute.

Your kids asked why you’re always tired. You didn’t have an answer.

The problem isn’t your results.
It’s how they’re being read.

GP reference ranges are designed to catch clear disease, not explain why you’re exhausted. Private tests give you data without direction. Google and AI can’t interpret results in the context of your life, your symptoms, your history.

Standard approach

Each result checked against a fixed “in range” threshold. If nothing flags, you’re told you’re fine.

This review

Results read against optimal ranges — what a healthy person’s markers typically look like. Patterns spotted across multiple markers, not just isolated numbers.

Standard approach

Your context, symptoms, history, sleep, digestion, life stage, isn’t part of the picture.

This review

Your symptoms, timeline, and health history are central to the interpretation. Nothing is read in isolation.

Toki Birch Functional Medicine Practitioner
25+ years in health

I know what it feels like to be dismissed by your own results.

Years ago, I was so exhausted I couldn’t sit upright for long. Dry skin, brittle hair, complete brain fog, and a body that felt like it was shutting down. My test results kept coming back normal. Every time.

It wasn’t until I trained in functional medicine that I finally understood what was going on, and why no one had spotted it. Now, with over 25 years in health and nearly a decade in functional medicine, I specialise in finding the patterns that explain why you still feel unwell.

I built this review because it’s the resource I desperately needed back then.

A case study
“Everything looks good.” She’d heard it three times. She was 47, exhausted, and couldn’t think clearly. On paper everything was normal, but in reality, she knew something wasn’t right.

When we looked at the full picture, her symptoms, history, and the patterns across her results, it suggested her body wasn’t converting thyroid hormones efficiently. A pattern that can explain relentless tiredness, constipation, brain fog, and difficulty losing weight. Nobody had joined the dots. Now she had something to work with.

What it feels like to finally
get a straight answer.

I’ve had lots of tests over the years, but no one explained them like this. This was the first time it actually made sense.

Andrea, 46

The written summary was brilliant. I could refer back to it, and it stopped me trying to fix everything at once.

Claire, 52

I felt more confident advocating for myself at my next appointment. I had the right questions and the right words for once.

Annie, 69

Be honest with yourself.

Anything you’re unsure about?
Let’s clear it up.

GP ranges are designed to rule out disease, not to explain persistent symptoms. This review looks at your results alongside your history using optimal ranges, and what we expect to see in a genuinely healthy person.

Ideally a full thyroid panel (TSH, Free T4, Free T3, Reverse T3, TPO & TG antibodies), plus vitamin D, B12, folate, iron, fasting glucose, HbA1c, and full blood count. But don’t worry if you don’t have all of these, we start with what you have. I’ll flag anything worth adding.

Generic tools comment on data in isolation. They don’t know your symptom pattern, your history, your medications, your life stage, or what’s changed over time. This review is personal to you, and isn’t a generalised response to a set of numbers.

It helps you make sense of your results in context, so you’re no longer trying to decode them alone. It highlights what’s worth following up with your GP or clinician, with the right questions and context to get a better conversation. You leave knowing what you’re dealing with, not just that something feels wrong.

No. This is a one-off review, and I can’t responsibly include supplement protocols without follow-up. If supplements may be relevant, I’ll frame them as an option to explore alongside food-first foundations. Next-step options are included if further support is needed.

You can still book now. Your spot is held for 20 days while you get them. You can request results from your GP or download them via the NHS App. If you need guidance on private testing, email support@tokibirch.com and I’ll point you in the right direction.

Stop second-guessing.
Start understanding.

You deserve a clear picture of what’s going on in your body, with a path forward that makes sense for you.
